The Best Gift of All Time: Electric Spice Grinders
I always loved cooking. Ever since I was a kid, my mom would always drag me to the kitchen to help her cook our evening meals. Of course, as a young boy, all I managed to do was make more of a mess than actually help, but it is here that my passion for cooking began taking root.
Even though I wasn’t much of a help to my mom, I always enjoyed the wonderful aromas that emanated from our kitchen. The tangy scent of herbs and spices that my mom used back then is well remembered by my nose.
Of course, back then my mom had to do everything manually: she chopped up the basil that she grew from our back yard at pounded the pepper using a classic mortar and pestle. Whenever my mom did this, I always stayed behind her just to indulge myself with the magnificent smell that came from these ingredients.
Now I am an aspiring chef and have just recently graduated from my culinary course; the basic and fundamental skills that I learned from my mom back then are now honed by other culinary masters. My mom still loves cooking whenever we get together but she isn’t as young as before so chopping and grinding the spices we both love have become an arduous chore for her. So for her birthday I planned on giving her some electric spice grinders so that she can still cook those amazing meals without that much of a hassle.
The funny thing is, even though I learned how to cook in school, people still say that my mom’s cooking tastes better. I guess my first cooking master remains unbeatable despite how old she gets.
